Pretty shaky start to this season, very slow but with the hot weather Tom says it is picking up. On Tuesday he and Co-op member Harry, a fellow butterfly enthusiast, saw 17 butterflies seen in Park Copse on their weekly transect walk – 14 Meadow Brown 14, 1 Small Heath 1, 1 Common Blue and 1 Large Skipper. Tom is hoping there will be significantly more in terms of abundance and species in the coming weeks.
